Covid Update 25 Feb

Andrea Griffin —

Kia ora koutou

As we see cases of Covid-19 increase in the community, it is only natural that cases appear in our school. We saw this yesterday. We have good systems in place to respond and to keep spread of the virus to a minimum.

Please continue to keep a close watch on your children for Covid-19 symptoms. If unwell, please keep them at home.

With Phase 3 of the Omicron response, the key change is that it is only confirmed positive cases and their household contacts who need to self-isolate. Everyone else, including those who may have had close contact with a case but aren't in the household, must continue to monitor closely for any symptoms of Covid-19.

If parents and caregivers are notified that their child is a close contact we would prefer that you keep them at home. Please let us know and we will mark them as self-isolating. This does not affect their attendance record. All of our students have access to Schoology as a learning platform and teachers have uploaded material to this.

If anyone in your family is confirmed as having Covid-19, you will be asked to notify close contacts yourself. Please get in touch with us as soon as you can if your child has tested positive for Covid-19.

At this stage school continues as normal. We will re-evaluate regularly and may need to make changes depending on circumstances and availability of staff. We will send out communications should there be any change. Please keep checking our Website, Schoology and our Facebook page.

Thank you for all of your support for our staff and students in these constantly changing times.
