Thank you for your support in what has been a busy Term 2. As we look forward to Term 3, Students need to start thinking about potential pathways and courses for 2022.

A key part of Course Selection is for parents and caregivers to have conversations with their child around this. It is important that they think carefully and choose wisely for their subjects next year.

The course choice portal, SchoolPoint, is used for course selection. They access SchoolPoint through their KAMAR login and the 'Course Selection' tab. This can be found on the Burnside High School website.

When the students login, they click on the 'My Courses' section. They can see the courses that are available for them to choose for their year level.

Students need to check that they have the prerequisites for each course. They can do this by looking through the information for each course. The teacher in charge of each course is shown on each course outline.

Some courses are compulsory at each year level and this can be found on the 'Useful Information' section of the site.

Students will have Course choice assemblies the week beginning 2 August. We are holding a parents course choice evening on 5 August. At the start of the evening we will have a session for parents new to NCEA. Heads of faculty will be available in sessions to talk through each subject.

Course Selection will be open from 9 August until 20 August for students, parents and caregivers to select their courses.
