Sam Ryburn, a member of our PE staff, who is currently on leave, had the pleasure whilst in the USA to watch 2 ex-students Taylah Holdem and Rosa Vesty play against each other. Both girls were coached by Sam while attending Burnside. They are both on Volleyball scholarships in the States.

Sam said he has had a few athletes come to the States over the years but he has never had the opportunity to watch them live, let alone two best friends who landed at great volleyball programmes in the USA after doing everything together for 5 years at Burnside High School.

He went on to thank Michigan State Volleyball for hosting him and allowing him the opportunity to spend time in their truly amazing environment!
