11/12 ENH visit to the Antarctic Centre

Leslie Lim —

My trip to the Antarctic Centre

I saw lots of new things on this trip. We experienced the storm in the storm room and I saw the ski-doo. When the storm started, I was on the ski-doo and I couldn't feel my ears and my fingers. I felt it was the real storm. I couldn’t believe that the Antarctic storm is a hundred times bigger than the storm we experience. Then we went to see the penguins feeding. They are so cute and lovely. We learn lots of knowledge about penguins. For example, a Weddell seal pup actually weighs 29 kilograms when it is born. It is super huge. Another example, a Little Blue Penguin can swim 60 - 80 km to catch fish per day. If a group of penguins was in the water, we called them “raft”.

Although I have already been there before, I still learned lots of information about Antarctica. I was not only learning about penguins but also the other sea animals. For example, seals and whales. I love this trip so much.
