We have had impressive numbers of  Burnside High students playing Canoe Polo in Term 1, 2017.

The number of students playing Canoe Polo has doubled from Term 4, 2016. We had 45 students playing in the inter-schools league, held at Lake Roto Kohatu every Wednesday afternoon during Term 1.  From this league, a development squad was named to represent Burnside High at the South Island Secondary Schools' Canoe Polo Championships, held in Oamaru 11th-13th August.

For those unsure of how the sport works: Two teams of five players compete against each other, with games having two 10 minute halves. New players are always welcome! The league continued on Wednesdays in Term 4 this year also.
