NZSS Winter Tournament Week 2022

Sports Office —

For the first time in three years the New Zealand Secondary Schools Winter Tournament Week was able to go ahead without disruption. Burnside High School had 15 teams competing in ten different sporting codes.

After two years of covid cancellations and numerous sporting disappointments, it was fantastic to be able to farewell our teams and know that they were embarking on a sporting experience that many will remember fondly for the rest of their lives. The New Zealand Secondary Schools (NZSS) Winter Tournament Week took place from Monday 29 August - Friday 02 September in various locations throughout New Zealand.

Success means many different things to different people, and whilst our teams had differing levels of what could be considered 'success' on the court or field, Winter Tournament Week was a huge success for Burnside High School with our all teams and individual athletes representing the school and themselves with pride and determination.

Congratulations to all our students who competed at Winter Tournament Week and  a big thank you to all the staff, parents and members of the Burnside High School community who ensured that this week was so rewarding for all our young sportspeople.
