Burnside High School Dance Academy produced some incredible results over a weekend at the Regional DNZM championships

Our students were outstanding and left everyone in the audience and at the competition blown away with their awesome attitudes on stage and highly impressive skills.

SOLOS/DUOS

Gold - Emmy Sandford - Year 9 solo

Gold - Emmy Sandford and Poppy Brown - Year 9-10 duet

Bronze - Madison Bower and Annabell Keith - Year 9-10 duet

Silver - Annabell Keith - Year 10 solo

Bronze - Amelia Nicholls - Year 11 solo

Gold - Amelia Nicholls and Dylan O'Keefe - Year 11-13 duet

Silver - Amelia Nicholls and Rose Cudmore - Year 11-13 duet

Silver - Dylan O'Keefe - Year 12 solo

Silver - Grace Wakefield - Year 13 solo

Amelia and Dylan also were OVERALL Duet champions with the highest score of the competition.

Gold -'Never tear us apart' Junior Contemporary Academy - Year 9-10 team

Gold - 'Let's be bad' Senior Jazz Academy - Year 11-13 team

Gold - 'Wonderful World' Senior Contemporary Academy - Open team

'Wonderful World' also won the award for Choreographic Excellence which was choreographed by both Talia Ellis(HOD Dance) and Molly Brown (ex student).

With this routine we also won overall Christchurch top school and the highest scoring Team Champions.
