On the weekend the two Burnside Concert Bands competed at the Christchurch Wind Festival.
The Burnside High School Junior Concert Band was awarded a Gold Award and also Best Trombone Section, with student conductor Althea James given a special mention.
The Burnside Symphonic Band was also awarded a Gold Award, and Best Flute section, with student conductor Sho Woodhouse, given a special mention.
We are really proud of these students for the work that they have done this year. Especially the Junior Band, as this was their first performance of the year due to Covid.
