Jordan Hales - IRP Skill Coach

Mark Ealey —

Loughborough College graduate joins IRP

IRP skills coach Jordan Hales earned his degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University in Leicestershire, U.K. His playing career started at school aged 12, and quickly progressed to the Leicester Tigers Academy pathway and then on to the Nottingham Academy, whilst completing his A-levels. After working at a local middle school as a PE Apprentice post-university, he made the decision to come to New Zealand to try his arm in the Canterbury system. He now plays lock and flanker for Belfast RFC. Jordan's impressive lineout knowledge and sports science background should stand him in good stead moving forward.

Jordan's well-planned sessions and his enthusiasm to see the IRP players take in as much as possible make him an invaluable addition to the IRP coaching crew.

Jordan says: “I’m really looking forwards to seeing how the guys in the IRP will progress. I’m very excited by the talent I have seen so far. It’s brilliant to be able to work with a great bunch of guys and girls who are hungry to learn. I feel very humbled to have been given the opportunity to coach this group, and I can’t wait to see where we all end up at the end of the programme.”
