Table Tennis continues to be strong at Burnside High, despite losing several of our highly-ranked Y13 players who played for our top team over many years.

Five teams played this year in the 2021 Canterbury Secondary Schools' Wednesday competition, held at Table Tennis Stadium, Blenheim Rd, over Terms 2 and 3.

The Boys A team (Johnny Bae, Jack Cai, Joshua Kim and James Wang) beat the Girls A team (Aarya Advilkar, Yoo Jin Han, Vanessa Wood-Lin and Ellie Zhang) in the final of this Wednesday competition.

Unfortunately, due to Covid, the NZ Secondary Schools' Championships were cancelled, due to be held in Hamilton this year, and we had both the Boys A and the Girls A team travelling to this - so all going well, it will go ahead in Hamilton again next year!

In a separate tournament in June this year, namely the Canterbury Secondary Schools' Team Championships, the Girls A team entered into this, and won this event.
