It is great to have Underwater Hockey back as one of our school sports after a 15 year hiatus.

Thanks to one of our very dedicated Teacher Aides, Alexa Reid, we have now have a newly formed Underwater Hockey team here at Burnside High School. Alexa has taken on the role of Teacher in Charge of Underwater Hockey, and has been a real driving force with the club gaining numbers and momentum as the season progressed. 

The team competed in two tournaments in their first season, the South Island Club Championships at Jellie Park, at the end of May and the Central Secondary School Championships in Wellington, in July. 

The team played really well at both tournaments and learnt a lot playing more experienced teams. They placed 4th in the C Grade at the South Island Club Championships.
