Burnside High School Establishes Sister School Relationship with Top-Tier School in China

Scott Haines —

We recently celebrated a significant milestone for Burnside High School with an online ceremony marking the establishment of a sister school relationship with Beijing No. 4 High School, Xicheng, Beijing, China.

Beijing No. 4 High School, founded in 1907, is renowned as one of China’s most prestigious secondary schools. Located in central Beijing, it boasts a strong academic reputation, particularly in the fields of mathematics and science.

We are delighted to formalize this sister school agreement, which aims to foster cultural exchange, academic collaboration, and mutual understanding between our students and staff. This partnership opens up opportunities for reciprocal student and teacher exchanges, and it also holds significant potential for enhancing our international marketing efforts in China. Through this relationship, we hope to further establish Burnside High School as a preferred destination for Chinese students seeking a quality education abroad.

A special thank you goes to our teacher of Chinese, Huili Feng, whose instrumental role was crucial in brokering this sister school agreement.

We look forward to the enriching experiences and shared learning that this partnership will bring to both our schools.

A big thank you to Student Photographers Phoebe D'Arcy-Slade 13RES and Holly-Beth Campbell 13RES for documenting this event. A selection of their images are below.
