Thank you for continuing to notify us if your child becomes a household or positive case. We continue to see a rise in Covid cases in Canterbury. This is reflected in increased numbers of students and staff that are being reported at school as Household or positive cases.

We continue with our hybrid model of learning next week. This means that:

Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th March - Year 11, 12 and 13 on-site only

Wednesday 30th March - All year levels on-line learning

Thursday 31st March and Friday 1st April -Year 9 and 10 on-site only

Should we experience a further increase in absences then we will move to a fully on-line model for a short period of time. We will let you know if this becomes a reality.

Please be assured that we are being as flexible as we can for students in this difficult time. We understand the anxiety for students that they may be missing learning or assessments, particularly if they are in isolation.

As a school we are responding to the new environment and adapting courses, strategies and assessments for students. We encourage students to make contact with their teachers or deans if they need support. Their health and recovery from any illness should be their primary concern.

You will be aware of the changes to the Covid-19 protection framework that were announced on Wednesday.

The key changes for us being:

We remain in the red traffic light setting until any further announcement. This means that:

We will be working on what these new rules mean for our school.

Take care as Canterbury moves towards the peak of this outbreak. Be kind to yourselves and each other.

Ngā mihi
