A trip to UC "Why German?"

 Burnside High School German language students attended an information day recently, at the University of Canterbury. The Heads of various faculties of UC (most of whom are German nationals!) such as Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Physics and Psychology were asked to present at a student forum discussion. The best message our students received was that learning German gives them the factor of difference and an edge over other graduates on the job market. They were suitably impressed that university studies in Germany are free and that the cost of living is lower than in New Zealand!

The German Language students also baked up a storm for the annual Languages Department Mardi Gras! (see photos)
