Year 13 student Gray Dawson has been chosen to be a member of the 2024 New Zealand Young Shakespeare Company.

There are only 20 students New Zealand wide in the company. Gray will spend three weeks studying at the Globe Theatre in London - in June next year and working with the resident directors, culminating in a performance on the Globe stage!

Gary previously attended the Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand national festivals in both 2022 and 2023, and was part of the Shakespeare Globe Center production week which was held in August this year. This involved 40 students who were divided into three casts. Gray was cast in Richard III and played the protagonist.
