On Wednesday 04 May, Burnside High School's top swimmers competed at the Canterbury Secondary Schools' Swimming Championships.

On the back of some amazing performances by our swimmers, Burnside High School was again named the Top Co-ed Swimming School in Canterbury. This was our most successful meet in over 20 years, the last time the team was this successful it had a future Olympian in the team.

Congratulations to Harry Renner who was named the Canterbury Junior Boys Swimming Champion at this meet.

The team also broke four Canterbury records. Well done to:

• Stacey Morgan who broke the 15 year old Girls 100m Freestyle record; 
• Harry Renner on breaking the 14 year old Boys 50m Freestyle record;
• The Girls Open 200m Freestyle Relay Team (Josiane Hill, Hanna Bartneck, Maddy Horton, & Stacey Morgan) who broke that event's record.

Hamish Giddens also went faster than the old record in the 14 year old Boys 50m Freestyle race but the record went to Harry as he won the race.
