From the School Cross Country a large team competed in the Canterbury Road Race at the A and P Showgrounds.

Cameron Clark 13WUP won the Senior Boys race by more than 10 seconds. He is a dedicated athlete who has represented Burnside in Athletics and Cross Country for all his time at Burnside. He was thrilled to win . He combined with Corban Straker 12SMGD 9th, Thomas Anderson 12SMGD 11th and Ocean Falloon-Cavandar 19th 11SKRA to win the Senior Boys Team event ahead of Boys High, St Bedes and Christ College. With only one Year 13 in this team in a large tough field we can be very proud of these young men.Not to be outdone Theo Walker 10NRSR was a creditable third in the Under 16 Boys race.

This was followed two weeks later by the Canterbury Cross Country Championships held at Ascot Park.

The Senior Boys were disappointed not to win a medal on the day,  but they performed to their potential - being among the top teams in the country. The Senior Boys race had more than 250 Over 16 boys in it which made it quite a spectacle. Theo Walker 10NRSR was 9th in the Junior Boys Race and was recognised at the prize giving. On Sunday we had the Regional Relays with all our athletes having been selected for Canterbury Teams. The 5 person Canterbury Senior A team with Cameron Clark 13WUP and Daniel Roswell 13OLK in it won the Silver Medal. Theo Walker was in the Junior A team and they finished in bronze medal position.

An outstanding season of Cross Country
