We have been pleased to see students back this week.

Burnside High School —

We thank the students for the respectful way that they have started, particularly with mask wearing.

We thank the students for the respectful way that they have started, particularly with mask wearing.

There are a number of changes to our usual routines, including:

Wet weather

During a wet lunch we have revised our plan to ensure that students on site can be in wet weather rooms appropriately distanced. Due to the large number of specialist classrooms where we cannot accommodate students we have decided that if we have a wet day, after period 4 Year 12 and 13 will go home. They will be able to access all learning through schoology at home.  The Library is also available.

The lunch period and interval will be shorter, so students in year 9,10 and 11 will leave school at 2.10pm on Mondays and 2pm on all other days ( should this be a wet day)

Parents and visitors on-site

Any parents or visitors on-site must report to the main reception first. Please scan in and masks must be worn inside the reception area. We ask that you sit away from other visitors.

If you wish to see a staff member, please ensure that you have made an appointment before you come onto-site.

Mask exemptions

If your child has a mask exemption then please let the dean know. This should be an official exemption or a medical certificate. A school exemption pass will be issued and teachers informed that they are exempt. Details about exemptions can be found on the Ministry of Health website. Please help us to keep all students safe by following the guidelines.
