COVID update

Andrea Griffin —

Kia ora whānau

Further to the communication on Friday, we have been notified that a good number of staff will be absent from school in the coming week due to the Covid regulations. As a result, we have made the decision to move to our hybrid learning model in order to provide continuity of learning for all students as from Tuesday 15 March. All students are expected to be on site on Monday 14 March.

On Tuesday we are transferring to our hybrid learning model where students have a combination of onsite face to face and remote learning from home on a rostered basis as follows:

Tuesday 15 March – only Year 11, 12 and 13 students are on-site.

Wednesday 16 March – all students are off-site learning on-line.

Thursday 17 and Friday 18 March – Year 9 and 10 students attend on-site. Year 11, 12 and 13 are on-line learning.

This plan will be reviewed weekly.

Note: If a Year 9 student needs to be on-site due to their age (under 14) and is a child of a critical worker and there is no supervision available at home, please email their Dean. There will be provision for on-site on-line learning in the library for these students. This will be for Tuesday and Wednesday only this week. They will attend usual lessons on Thursday and Friday.

All remote learning will be provided via our Schoology learning platform. Students can expect that their learning activities for each subject will be outlined in their Schoology Course. There will be opportunities for interaction with their teachers during the times when they are learning remotely. Those students who do not have access to a device and/or the internet at home need to let their deans know urgently so arrangements can be made to support their learning.

Thank you, as always, for your support.
