Burnside Environment Group join forces with Predator Free Riccarton
This term the Environment Group developed our own trap line in Te Uru as we aim to eradicate rats from our forest.
Jade from predator Free Riccarton, pictured on the left, presented us with our very own BHS traps and linked us into their area wide network. Predator Free Riccarton would love to get students involved at home with their whānau by getting traps in their backyards. This would go a long way to help achieve the goal of greater trap density all over Riccarton and the surrounding suburbs. "Traps can be purchased from Predator Free Riccarton for $15 for your backyard. It would be great to see our school whanau support this initiative. There are over 350 traps in the wider community, if you wish to find out more please check out the Predator Free Riccarton Facebook or Instagram pages or email your interest through to predatorfreericcartopn@gmail.com."
