Simon Li wins the NZ Bright Awards Best Game Category

Steven Rodkiss —

For the second year in a row, a Burnside High School student won the national Bright Awards Game Category

These prestigious awards are run by Media Design School in Auckland and are open to students of all ages from around the entire country. Not only are they hard to win, they come with a rather generous $1000 prize.

A really big congratulations goes out to Simon Li, a Year 13 Game Design student who entered the truly stunning game "Archers Creed" into the competition this year. The judges were extremely impressed with the artwork, polish and game play of his entry. Simon has done three years of game design in the interactive game design course here at Burnside High School and is going on to study game design at Victoria University in Wellington.

We wish him the best of luck as he steps in to a growing industry- that earned New Zealand an estimated $271 million last year and has continued to grow year after year. We are sure he has a bright future ahead of him.
