On Thursday 11 August the following keen beans travelled up to Mount Hutt, through the snow and low cloud, to partake in the annual racing.
Beck Faloon-Cavander, Ottilie Faloon-Cavander, Daniel Fullerton, Malachi Kereama, Saxon Kerr, Brayden Morrison, Lucia Shanks, Yvonne Tobeck, Yu Ran Zuo, along with Mr Addison and Mr Rosengrave, travelled up to Mount Hutt.
We started the day with a 30 minute delay at the base of the approach road while the crew at Mount Hutt finished clearing the road. This was a sign of things to come as the races were delayed by 90 minutes due to poor visibility and computer problems at the start and finish gates. The wait was rather brutal and dulled the gloss for many participants. In the end, some races were started and our competitors did the best they could considering the conditions. Results are attached.
We have included some pictures here to give you a good feel for what is was like waiting for the starts. On a positive note - the day did clear later on and there was some exceptional skiing on the upper mountain.
