Shave For a Cure at BHS

Gray Ryburn —

Congratulations to all those who participated in Burnside High School’s 2018 ‘Shave For a Cure’ On Tuesday the 10th of April.

A brave group of 21 students shaved their hair or chopped their ponytail off to raise funds as well as awareness for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand. This is a phenomenal organisation ensuring all individuals and families who are sadly faced with leukaemia and blood cancer are well supported. The shave took place at lunchtime creating a supportive atmosphere as many students were keen to help out. Large support from Burnside High School’s community saw the team raise over $8,500! A huge thanks goes to the hairdressers at Colour Theory who allowed this event to be a success. Burnside High School is looking forward to ‘Shave For a Cure’ 2019!
