Year 13 Biology Students Visit Orana Park

Matthew Easterbrook —

All Year 13 Biology students had the opportunity to visit Orana Park during Term 2. This trip allows students to observe the primates at Orana Park, including gorillas, spider monkeys and gibbons, and compare their anatomy with that of humans. Students also listened to Zoo School staff talking about the evolution of humans, and were able to compare structural features of skulls between a number of different hominin species. This allowed students an engaging and hands on way to experience the key ideas in the Human Evolution topic. This was a very educational experience and Burnside High School would like to thank the Orana Park Zoo School staff for their support.
