Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa - Samoa Language Week
On Tuesday a group of students travelled over to Te Ana Marina on a Waka Hourua trip to visit the Hinemoana.
BHS students had a great time on the Waka Hourua trip. This connects with other Flying Geese events we had at school last year around traditional navigation and wayfinding.
Last week both the junior and senior Pasifika students had an opportunity to make Sapa Sui as a prelude to Samoa Language Week. On Wednesday a group of senior Pasifika students made seventy containers of Sapa Sui. The Sapa Sui was dropped off at the kai kitchen here at school for BHS students. It was awesome to see the students come together to make this food for others.
Pasifika students have been given the opportunity to wear traditional attire one day during the week if they wanted to.
