Burnside High School powerlifters have had a very successful year.

They have lifted in three competitions this year and have all achieved personal bests. National records have been broken this year by Alfie Trafford, Grace Wakefield and Ethan Wijia, and Penny Yang was awarded Best Female Lifter at the South Island Championships.

At the Sports Awards ceremony early in Term 4, Alfie Trafford was named Burnside High School Lifter of the Year and Harrison Bray-Lim was named Most Improved Lifter of the Year.

Penny Yang has been selected as Team Captain for 2022.
