Gold to Maggie Carroll and Liza Khorozova!

Congratulations to Maggie Carroll 13NJF and Liza Khorozova 13JRD who recently participated in the National Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge held at Ara Institute of Canterbury. Both girls were awarded a gold medal with Maggie winning overall at 95% and Liza was awarded with 94.6%.

The criteria for their dish was to include tomato which had to be the star of the dish. They produced a Tomato tart with fresh tomato and basil salad, manuka smoked foam and goats cheese.

Both girls will now form a team and travel to Auckland for Nationals in September. They will have to produce four entrees and mains within 90 minutes.

Burnside High School was successful at winning the National Title in 2015 enabling the team to travel to Tahiti to represent New Zealand.
