Gorillas Highlight of Year 13 Biology Trip
Seeing a 190kg gorilla up close was one of the highlights of the Year 13 Biology trip to Orana Park this Term.
All Year 13 Biology students had the opportunity to watch the behaviour of the many primates on show at Orana Park, as part of their studies in the Human Evolution topic. Students also took part in a range of hands on activities investigating trends in skull patterns using replica fossil skulls from several hominin species. This allowed students to visualize the changing skull features as our hominins evolved in the changing environment of Africa. This was a highly engaging experience for students and staff and Burnside High School would like to thank the Orana Park Zoo School staff for their support.
