As we get ready to farewell our Winter Sports teams as they prepare to head off on their NZ Secondary Schools' (NZSS) Winter Tournament Week (Mon 28 Aug - Fri 01 Sep) adventures, we would like to congratulate some of our other teams and individuals on some outstanding sporting performances in Swimming, Squash and Snowboarding.

NZSS Swimming Championships

Soeren Wells continued his winning form, placing in four events:

• Gold - 14 year old boys 400m Freestyle 
• Silver - 14 year old boys 100m Freestyle
• Silver - 14 year old boys 200m Freestyle
• Silver - 14 year old boys 200m Backstroke.

NZSS Squash Team Championships

The team of James O'Keefe, Ryan Gillman, Addison Po, Alexei Po, Finn Smalley and travelling reserve Liam Gillman placed 6th overall. The highest placing ever for a Burnside High School team. 

Thank you to Caltex Avonhead for helping to fuel this team on their trip to Auckland.

Canterbury Secondary Schools Skiing and Snowboarding Championships
