The Burnside High School Ice Hockey Team has had a very successful year with students winning various awards for the season.

Burnside played 15 games against other CHCH schools throughout terms 2 and 3 and placed third overall with a fantastic win against Shirley/Avonside in the end of season playoffs. The team also travelled to winter tournament in Dunedin this year where they placed second in their grade.  

 Indie Lewis 12SCPA was the team Captain this year and was a huge asset to the the team both on and off the ice. Indie was also awarded the Tappin Sporting Cup which is a special prize awarded by the Ice Hockey Federation for and individual who personifies fair play and positive sporting behavior across all aspects of the game. 

Tom Ford 9WKHR, Cooper Burgess 9WFSL and Bendix Sayk 12WTAW were all new to the team this year and had a great season and Tom was awarded the team's Most Improved Player Award.
