2017 Future Problem Solving International Conference
Attended after winning the national finals for Future Problem Solving in 2016.
I was lucky enough to be selected to represent NZ at the 2017 Future Problem Solving International Conference. The conference, which also incorporated the International finals was held at the University of Wisconsin in the United States and was attended by 2000 other like minded students from all around the globe. A group of students from around Christchurch, and myself, got to meet and make friends with students from all over the world, which made it a pretty cool experience.
The competition involved a lot of research on the topic of Bio Security. After this, I had to participate in a two hour competition which involved identifying challenges and creating futuristic solutions around the issue of the reanimation and reintroduction of a 300 million year old tree. In the end, I was lucky enough to place 7th in my particular competition.
