This year’s Squash season has been filled with a lot of fun! It was awesome to see lots of familiar faces sign up from previous years, as well as some new faces.
We had three teams entered in the Wednesday Winter competition: (Boys A, Mixed B and Mixed C).
There were some strong teams across Canterbury this year, particularly in the Mixed A Grade category. Our teams played exceptionally well in the Wednesday competition, with a couple of teams dominating their gradings throughout the season, resulting in two of our teams (Boys A & Mixed C) playing off for first place in their category in the final. The Boys A just missed out and still did incredibly well to place 2nd overall in A grade. Our C team had an awesome battle in their final and came out on top, winning their C grade division.
Final Placings:
BOYS A - 2nd place in A/B grade
MIXED B - 3rd place in A/B grade
MIXED C GRADE - 1st place in C grade
Aside from the Wednesday games, we also had five up-and-coming talented players participate in the Canterbury Secondary Schools’ Individual Squash Championships:
James O’Keefe, Saya Stratton, Alistair Po, Addison Po and Ashton Cameron.
They all put up great fights against some tough competition over the weekend tournament.
Thank you to all who have participated in this year’s season, and hopefully the 2021 season will be just as fun and successful!
