From the 29th of October to the 3rd of November, ten students had the trip of a lifetime on board the Spirit of New Zealand.
James Anderson, Jai Bartlett, Amelie Cowell, Lleyton Crump, Kingsley Hanrahan, Isolde Johnson, Karen Jorgensen, Kester Moore, Madeleine Sawyer, Julie Uchiyama, accompanied by Ms Phillips and with three other school from around the country got to experience this unique opportunity.
Hi, Iām one of the lucky students from Burnside High School who had the opportunity to go on the Spirit of Adventure trip that you helped to make happen. Thank you for the support, it means a lot to us and we had a great time on the ship.
Here are a few highlights from the trip: Every morning at 6:30 we would jump off the side of the ship and into the ocean to wake us up. Throughout the day we did multiple activities involving teamwork and leadership skills, like rafting, scavenger hunts, and acting out funny scenarios. One thing we will never forget is being able to see the stars and hear the ocean at the same time.
We all loved meeting the other fortunate schools who came with us, and getting to know each other. I think we are all a lot closer as a group after the trip. The Spirit of Adventure is a trip we will remember for the rest of our lives and we are honoured to have had the opportunity to go, so thank you so much for supporting us.
