Canterbury Secondary Schools' Golf Stroke Play Teams Championships

Burnside High was represented by two teams, comprising of the following students: 

• The A team: Jasmine Clancy, Hayato Miya, Yuki Miya and Amy Weng;
• The B team: Alex Choi, Yash Naicker, Mason Neil and McKenzie Selinger. 

Both our teams competed extremely well with the A team placing 2nd, only very narrowly missing out on 1st to St Andrew's College. At the end of play there was only 2 strokes between the two teams.  Our B team finished up in 6th place.

This excellent result would have normally won our A Team a place to compete at the NZ Secondary Schools Golf Teams Final in Hamilton on Monday 31 August, but due to Covid, this event didn't take place. However, some of our students are taking part at the rescheduled NZ Age Group Championships in December at the Ngaruawahia course in the Waikato, where they will also represent Burnside High School.
