Sarah Mankelow from the Council recently visited to see our new plantings in Jellie Park.

This National Competition for talented Mathematics students in years 9 to 11 was initiated in 1985 by Professor Derek Holton of the University of Otago Mathematics and Statistics Department.

The Burnside PTA is delighted to be able to help Burnside High School's nationally recognised, award winning female choir, Bel Canto.

Our talented students once again excelled in this competition

The New Zealand Programming contest ran on Saturday 11th of September as an online event just one week after our second lockdown ended. Burnside teams got together at our own school with four teams coming to use the school lab.

Despite Covid 19 once again disrupting the NZ Secondary Schools Winter Tournament Week, our teams still managed to get an almost full season of winter sport played. There was also a number of students representing Burnside High School in Gymnastics, Swimming, and Fencing late in Term 2 and early Term 3.

Many talented actors were awarded for their performances

Another strong season for the BHS netball programme; we had 100 players, 13 student umpires and 12 student coaches across 10 Wednesday teams and 8 Saturday teams.

The start of what was to be a busy term meant that we got some great results before lockdown stopped the momentum.

On Sunday, August 15th, two groups of Senior students competed at this year's Theatresports competition at Rangi Ruru Girls' School.

We are in the process of archiving past/present Burnside High School students/staff members who have excelled in their sporting field.
