Ski & Snowboard Club by Craig Rosengrave

The Burnside High School International Student Ski & Snowboard Club is a club created for those international students who are not here for academic purposes but here to experience as much as they can during their time with us.
We usually ski and ride mid-week at Mount Hutt when the demand exists and the weather is suitable. Mount Hutt is a 90 minute drive from school so day trips are easily achieved. Term Three is the time for skiing in Canterbury and the (school student) ski season typically lasts for the full ten weeks (mid July - late September). Students need to pay for: lift ticket, transport, ski gear and ski wear. The costs vary depending on age and how much gear you need to rent. Some students bring their own ski wear (helmet, goggles, gloves, jacket and pants). A couple even bring their own skis/board, boots (and poles) but renting is easier. However, there is nothing better than using your own gear!
Our International Student Director is the person in charge of this club. Feel free to email rsc@burnside.school.nz for more information on skiing and riding with Burnside High School's International Student Ski & Snowboard Club.
