As 2021 draws to a close, we look back on a long year of highs and lows.
As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to cause disruption here in New Zealand and around the world, I have been so impressed with the fortitude of our local businesses operating in this extremely difficult environment. It is not easy, and there is still plenty of uncertainty about what the future holds. However, it is positive to be operating in the less restrictive traffic light system with the prospect of international borders reopening on the horizon. Please remember we are here if you need any support or advice.
For me, one of the year's clear highlights has been joining Business South as its inaugural CE. Bringing together two amazing legacy organisations has been a huge undertaking, but such a worthwhile one. United, we have a stronger community, a more powerful voice and a shared vision and sense of purpose. This solidarity is especially important as the business community grapples with the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.
As we all look ahead to 2022, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a safe and happy festive season. I look forward to reconnecting with you all in the New Year.
Ngā mihi nui,
