Mike Collins, Business South Chief Executive

A note from the CE

I hope that everyone has had some time off with friends and family over the Christmas break and I am sure you are now well back into the reset of managing this changing environment in which we all live.

In light of the current Omicron outbreak, it is inevitable that we will experience positive Covid-19 cases in the community in Otago and Southland. This can be expected to cause disruption to businesses, families and communities. In this edition of Business South Connect, we detail the latest key information for business including the Government's three-phase approach to dealing with Omicron, rapid antigen testing, new mask guidelines, financial support and self-isolation requirements.

As is permitted in the Red traffic light setting, we intend to continue hosting events and training within approved capacity guidelines. Take some time to browse the full list of our upcoming offerings in our Noticeboard at the end of this newsletter – we’d love you to join us.

Also in this edition, we’re pleased to announce Business South's recent Chamber of Commerce accreditation, and to highlight the exceptional employment law support available to you through our Legal Team.

As always, please remember to let us know if you have questions or require support in these uncertain times. We are here to help.

Ngā mihi nui,

Mike Collins

Chief Executive
