Clergy Announcment: Rev'd Joanna Fielding

Bishop Steven —

Last week the Reverend Jo Fielding announced her resignation from the ministry team at Otago Peninsula Anglican Parish. Jo is returning to the UK later in October with her husband David Fielding who has been appointed to a post at Manchester University. Jo will be finishing her Dunedin based roles at Easter.

Jo has not only been involved in parish ministry work, but in hospital and University Chaplaincy work as well as serving on a number of committees and boards in the Diocese, including the Diocesan Council. She has also worked as a volunteer for Victim Support and for Women's Refuge across the Dunedin area. Jo and David have also been part of the church families in the Dunedin North parish, and at St John's Roslyn.

It will be a big loss for us, but a huge gain for Manchester & for their UK-based families as Jo and David return to England after 15 years with us here in Dunedin.

Jo will be very sad to leave the Otago Peninsula parish where she has served the community over the last few years, and to say goodbye to colleagues and friends in the wider Dunedin area. However it is not a complete departure as she and David will be back for a few weeks each year over the next couple of years. Jo would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their kind support, friendship and encouragement in so many areas of her life. Dunedin has been a wonderful home for Jo, David, Anna & Matthew over the last fifteen years.

Haere rā .... blessings and best wishes to Jo and David as they move onto new challenges. Please continue to hold them in your prayers in this time of endings/new beginnings for them and the Diocese.
