Friday Light Team Leader (0.5 Position, fixed term contract)
St Luke’s Anglican Church (Mosgiel) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Christian leader to oversee and develop its Friday Light Ministry, and to work with other churches to develop a strategy to support missional ministry. Friday Light is an incarnational ministry, catering for a diverse range of adults.
Friday Light is a well-established 13+ year ministry of St Luke’s on the Taieri. It draws in people from the greater Dunedin, Mosgiel and Waihola areas. It is able to meet needs and impact on people’s lives who would not be comfortable in the usual church context.
This position represents a new beginning and revitalisation of the current structure, with this newly created team leader position to help guide a dedicated group of enthusiastic volunteers to an exciting future. We want to extend the role even further to more effectively include other churches in the wider Dunedin area.
The team leader will take responsibility for the ministry, which will include operational and strategic planning, and working with volunteers and other stakeholders. Strong communication skills, plus the ability to handle challenging behaviours are essential, as is the ability to network across organisations.
The successful applicant will work most Friday evenings, as well as negotiable hours during the week in this 20 hour a week, fixed term position.

In our rural parish we have a large number of seasonal workers from the Pacific Islands with whom we work closely.
Our aim is to know Jesus and to make Him known. This we seek to do by building the family of God within and through the community.
