Transport to and from the Church service was a welcomed extra for participants. Special guests numbering 21,  Patron Justice Chisholm, Life members, Mary Holmes and Stan Hackwell, Royal Federation President Rachael O’Grady and her husband Harold.

On arrival attendees were met by members of the Skellerup Marching Team and escorted to their seating. All Justices had a name badge on the table, plus a Centennial Justice bag with a copy of the Centennial book and other goodies.

The tables were decorated with a Centennial placemat in either red or blue, gold wreaths, glass bowls, decorations, plus a Centennial menu for all.

President BJ Clark welcomed all and was followed by the singing of God Save the Queen then Patron Justice Chisholm proposing the Toast to the Queen.

Rev Mandy Neal and her niece Amanda Rose, descendants of the first Justice of NZ’s wife Jane Kendal told the story of her life over 200 years ago. This included a video acting out Mr Kendal’s arrival at Waitangi and being met by the Maori.

A three-course hot lunch was enjoyed by the attendees with toasts to the Royal Federation of Justices Associations, Canterbury Justices and Absent Friends.

Cutting of the Centennial Cake was expertly undertaken by our two life members Mary Holmes and Stan Hackwell.

The Centennial team worked hard to provide a great event for all attendees that honoured past Justices and all those that carry on the traditions of the Office today.
