Service Desks are the public face of the services we offer the public.

There are18 desks operating from Amberley to Rolleston - the preferred place the public attend to take advantage of our services. We have approximately 247 Justices working on our Service desks. All our Justices on the service desks are Accredited. The service desks see in excess of 2000 clients every month.

The total for the year September 2022 to August 2023 are as follows:

The service desk coordinators do a fantastic job in ensuring we have enough Justices to carry out our services with integrity and professionalism. 

On behalf of the Canterbury Justices of the Peace Association, our sincere thanks go out to all Justices and the Library support staff who ensure our desks operate in an efficient manner.

Canterbury has the only programme (as developed by our training team) where a Justice who has been appointed but not yet sworn observes on desks to gain an idea of the duties to be expected of them after the swearing in process.
