Canterbury Justice of the Peace Association
Graeme Barber - August 5, 2016
A question commonly asked is “Why do I need to pay a subscription so I can do my community work?” Being a Justice of the Peace within your community involves much more than simply conducting “community work” – it includes signing important documents that can have immense and very serious consequences on families and/or businesses. The work Justices agreed to undertake when sworn in, is often judicial and consequently all Justices need to be “active and current”.
Our Association’s annual subscription $40 is set by members at the Annual General Meeting and funds annual expenditure as per the our financial accounts.
