"The Life of Dai" by Dai Henwood
Everybody knows of Dai Henwood, we have spent many years laughing with him while watching, ‘Seven Days’. It came as a shock to many when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2023. “The Life of Dai” is a memoir, written with comedian, Jacqui Brown, of Dai’s life before, during and living with cancer. He is frank, honest and open about his life and prognosis.
I listened to Dai narrate this story as an audiobook. However, knowing his voice, I am sure you would ‘hear’ him tell his story if you chose to read the hard copy. Once finished I was left uplifted by his story of sadness and hope.
As an avid reader and owner of an iPad I love to have many books to carry with me when travelling. I also enjoy listening to audiobooks on my commute to work. The Libby App allows me to do just that. Download Libby onto your phone and tablet, you then use your library membership to access the electronic books from your council library, they have thousands.
You are happy to place up to 10 books on hold, and can download multiple titles at a time. It even allows you access to squillions of magazines, easily browsed on a tablet. You borrow titles for any duration from one week to 28 days. You can return titles early or they automatically return when your loan expires.
If you haven’t downloaded Libby (a free app), go ahead and do it in time for the term break.
