Remembering a great man ... Pete Bradley

Shane Buckner —

It is with great sadness that we have to share the news of the sudden passing of Pete, an absolute gem of a man, loved and respected by all. He will be sorely missed by many, as his personality and professionalism touched a great number of people.

While away on holiday visiting whānau, Pete passed away this afternoon after suffering a stroke.

Our thoughts, prayers and love are with Trish and the family at this devastating time.

After contributing significantly to the Templeton community as his last Principalship, Pete as you will know, has been employed by the Canterbury Primary Principals' Association as a mentor to the Canterbury Principals' network. In this role, Pete has positively impacted many people and has been held in the highest regard.

Personally, Pete has had a massive influence on my life and career, being my mentor for over 20 years and being the person to encourage me into principalship in the first place.

I know that he has had a profound influence on so many and is a great loss personally and professionally to so many. It is important then that we are able to get together as colleagues in an informal way, so we can share the stories we have with each other about the impact Pete has had on us. We will keep you updated on any plans we can make for this to happen.

We will also keep you informed of the family's plans going forward so that we may be able to pay our respects in the most appropriate way.
