Ruma Huia has begun delving into the wonderful world of Numicon this term, with an exploration of its various shapes, pegs, rods, colours, patterns and relationships.

Our students have had lots of fun becoming familiar with the Numicon equipment and have ordered the shapes, linked Numicon shapes with numbers and numerals, made patterns, grouped the shapes to ten and more. The students are loving the tactile nature of the equipment and enjoy the natural development of their number knowledge and skills.
