"Backyard Biodiversity” Printmaking Workshop
Saturday the 24th of June in our school dance studio, drop in from 10 am to 3 pm. A free Event.
Artist and science communicator Jenny Rock, scientist Catriona MacLeod from Manaaki Whenua | Landcare Research and ex-Carisbrook teacher Davina Hunt are offering the community a free printmaking workshop exploring biodiversity in our backyards on Saturday 24th June.
Sparking discussion and inspiration on what is important for each family, participants will be given a window frame to fill with their choices from images representing what might be grown in their backyard to nurture biodiversity, grow healthy food or protect native wildlife. Using printmaking, they will construct a print of “what I would like to see out my back window”... helping visualise what might be possible. With permission these will be on display at the NZ International Science Festival in the Golden Centre or Te Whare o Rukukia | Princes St Community Gallery, then returned to their owners.
Saturday 24th June, 10–3pm (open to drop in anytime), Dance Studio (Tane Mahuta Senior Block).
All equipment provided. This is a family event, adults must stay with their children.
