Did you know that fractions are all around us in our everyday lives?

In our MST groups, we have been exploring fractions. We looked at a task called Fraction Avenue and decided we wanted to make an interactive activity that looked at fractions in our school community. 

We are creating our own 3D “Fraction Community” using Carisbrook School and it’s surrounding streets. Each student has their own property to design and create. When we have finished our model, we will discuss what fraction questions we can generate using it, such as “what fraction of the properties have a fence?”, “what fraction of the properties have a path?”
