Polyfest 2022

Ana Halalilo-Rouvi —

On Thursday students from all years at our kura participated in Dunedin's annual Otago Polyfest.

Kia Ora Whānau,

This is the first time since 2019 Carisbrook has performed. Through these performances our tamariki celebrated both Māori and Pasifika cultures. With help from Kaiako at our kura and Rangatira from our community, we were able to have three performance groups.

We as staff are so proud of the tamariki in our school who performed on stage and of those who supported us by livestream back at school. Otago Polyfest has been a fantastic way to let our Māori and Pasifika students shine! Representing with mana and pride where they come from.

Special thanks to the students who stepped up as leaders for our three roopu. Your commitment over the last term has been outstanding. We would love to thank our whānau and wider community for all the support you have given us. From costuming, to cheering us on, to the messages of support and thanks we have received. This has been a great way to celebrate the end of COVID restrictions.

If you’d like to watch Carisbrook in action in the Thursday morning Polyfest session visit
