MST Term One

Wendy Fairbairn —

In MST we have been learning about fractions, and how they are in the world all around us. We looked at our names and how we could use them to make fractions. Why don’t you give it a try?

While we were making our fractions name posters, we were discussing who had the most siblings (18 was the winner!), which led to a discussion about who had the biggest family in the world. We found a lady, hundreds of years ago who had 69 babies! We then turned the information from the YouTube clip into fractions to represent how many sets of twins, triplets and quads!!

Here is the YouTube link to find out all about this amazing family: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjNZ4nOsCZI&ab_channel=BRIGHTSIDE

SKUNK! A game of chance. Try this fun game at home!

This is a fun and exciting game we have learnt this week. The MST children have taken this game home to share with their whānau, why don’t you have a try?

All you need is paper, a pen and dice. If you don’t have dice at home, you can make your own.

Below is the link to the instructions, and a template for the dice, or just draw the template onto a piece of paper, cut and paste or tape.
